With a history of over 80 years, the Somerset Wheelmen is truly an institution when it comes to bicycle racing in New Jersey. The Somerset Wheelmen boasts a membership that includes national and world champions in track and road cycling as well as hundreds of state and regional championships in track, road, cyclocross and mountain biking. The team meets every third Wednesday of every month (except July and December).
Benefits to membership in the Somerset Wheelmen include:
- Team support and advice from experienced racers and coaches.
- Bonus Payout System (monthly payment to active racers and members to help offset fees of competition).
- Partial to full repayment of travel expenses for out-of-town competitions.
- Generous support to members for sponsorship of local events, charities and clinics.
- Training rides and club races.
- "Hometown advantage" and racer introduction at the starting line of the Tour of Somerville, New Jersey's premier bicycle race.
